Terrible Two's

Alas, we have hit the terrible two's.  We aren't even at two yet and it has begun but so has time out.  Lately Ella has started throwing the worlds largest fits when she doesn't get something she wants.  After a long day of work, it can be really frustrating.  I just want to come home to a sweet girl and have a nice family dinner. Instead, I get a demonic baby who screams bloody murder at the tip of a hat.  It's been a rough few days here and I honestly felt like escaping this weekend.  Luckily for me, her mood seems to be a bit better; perhaps a Mother's Day present?? Three of her two year old molars have surfaced but I just can't believe that they are solely to blame for her change in mood.  The frustrating part is who can stay mad at a face like this??

I am eager for this phase to end and terrified of it lasting all year =\

Mr. Bear...

I have come to the understanding that Grandparents can get away with a lot of things.  One of the many times my parents came to see us, they showed up with the worlds largest stuffed bear.

At the time, we were still living in an apartment and the bear took up a good majority of space.  While we were living in the apartment, Hobbes also lived inside.  I believe he thinks it's his mission to pee on EVERYTHING.  Including Mr. Bear.  As Mr. Bear was a play thing of Ella's, naturally we needed to give him a bath. Nothing we did would get the pee smell out so, eventually we had to toss Mr. Bear.
Mr. Bear was extra special and it's always made me sad knowing he lived such a short life.  We decided to buy a new Mr. Bear the other day and it's made Ella so happy :)

My Daughter

Is almost two! I just can't believe how time has just flown by.  I miss the days when she was a baby but I love her age now.  She is talking so much and is so smart.

I love walking into her daycare and seeing all of the other kids come and hug her yelling "Ella or Elda" :) this makes me happy.
She knows what she wants and will do her best to get it
She LOVES the word "no"
She knows about 10-15 different animal sounds
She is starting to put two to three words together
She LOVES Mickey Mouse Club house, if we were to let her watch it 24/7 she would
She is starting to be a bit of a picky eater
She likes to sing songs
She LOVES playing with her mommy's hair
She is getting better at going up and down stairs
She is sleeping in her big girl bed
She LOVES bananas
She knows so many words that I can't list them all
She still loves to cuddle with her mommy and daddy.
I love this little girl, she teaches me so many things every day.  I can't wait for the years to come but, I wish they would come a bit more slowly.

Bikes!!

We've been talking for awhile about how when we get a house.....

One of those times we had said, "when we get a house, we will get bikes."

Well, we got bikes :) We're so excited about them! It's so nice to be able to ride around our new area.  We typically take a family ride around 6:45 when the weather is perfect!  I just love our new home and our new bikes.

Diet?

I have no excuse to not be down to my pre-pregnancy weight.  I got used to eating for two and continued to do so.  Before having Ella, I would eat very small portions and very few times a day.   At that point I thought I was fat....and now I feel so large it's depressing.  I am heavier but I have also never been so happy.  Poor excuse right?? With the wedding approaching quickly, I've decided to start dieting.  We are trying the South Beach thing and I must say, I miss carbs....I miss starch.  I am hoping to get over this and try and lose ten pounds.  I feel like this is a reasonable goal and hope that I can achieve it...stay posted...

Easter

Well since everyone posted about Easter, I figured I should too.  We did NOTHING for Easter.  I feel like a horrible mother for not doing something for Ella.  We were smack dab in the middle of a move though.  Ella got a brand new room for Easter and the Easter bunny was so exhausted he forgot eggs.  We basically unpacked all day and had a nice family dinner at Del Taco.  I was much too tired to attempt to make a ham dinner although I swore all day I would.  I promised my little bug that next year we would go all out.  How wonderful she won't remember this parenting fail.

As a side note, Ella's Grandma Floo and Grandpa Moosie bought her a very large sheep that she has named Baaah :)

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter.

New home, New adventures, New memories

We move Friday!! YAY!! The not so yay is that we are all sick right now :( It's not been very fun packing while feeling under the weather.  I seriously hope that we make a turn for the better at some point this week.

We've almost finished packing!!!  We can't wait to move into our dream home and start making memories.  I just have to take the time to say how really blessed we are with wonderful jobs and families; none of this would have been possible without them.  This home is something we have been dreaming about and far exceeds our expectations on a first home.  All of the support we've had throughout the process has made this dream come true.  So, we'd like to thank our wonderful families who have helped us so much.

Now it wouldn't be fair if I didn't stop and remember that this apartment was our first family home.  I have been reflecting on all of the firsts that happened here and all of the experiences we have had.  As much as I am STOKED to leave, I will always remember this apartment.

I have wondered at times if Ella will have any memories of living here. I am sure someday we'll take her back here and show her were she learned to take her first steps....

So, on that note I leave a few pictures of our first home...
